BUTTERMILK: IT CAN HELP
I watched this short film at the Chicago Foodie Film Festival last month. Earl Cruze is the cutest buttermilk farmer you will ever set your eyes on.
While watching the film, everyone got to taste pure buttermilk and buttermilk ice cream in miniature-sized waffle cones from the Cruze Farms. (Earl’s daughter drove it up to Chicago from Knoxville!) Personally, the flavor is too sour for me, but I fell in love with his passion and conviction.
“Some of these dairies out in the Midwest, you know, they have a thousand or five thousand cows - even out in California. Now that’s not what I’m wanting. Some people don’t see it that way, they like for the small man to get out of the way. But small people are coming back a little bit, as people want higher quality food, really.”
